M3 Application Foundation can be considered “the heart and spine” of the M3 application suite. It is where the majority of the business transactions is processed and is the central hub for common services that are used in other M3 application components.
M3 Application Foundation is designed and implemented in a multi-layered architecture using open standards and industry-leading middleware. It consists of signature runtime features that ensure scalability, security, transaction integrity, traceability and system monitoring, thereby ensuring that communication between application components is secure, resilient and optimized for maximum efficiency.
M3 Application Foundation also includes support to simplify traditional application maintenance and administration. These functions can be operated by tools that are bundled into M3 Application Foundation or can even be extended to external system management applications.
