What’s the most efficient source of protein in the world?

It may well be salmon. You can get a kilo of fresh, tasty salmon for just barely more than a kilo of fresh, tasty salmon feed. No other animal comes close.

Now how would we know that? Well, we’re the world’s leader in providing software to salmon producers.

It’s true. Roughly two-thirds of the salmon that comes to market worldwide is produced by companies that use our software.

How did we get to be a world leader? By focus. We started with a product that has some features that are especially useful to salmon producers. Features like a reverse bill of materials, yield optimization, and catch weights. Then we won our first salmon customer. Then we adapted our product and services to meet the needs of salmon producers. After all, our mission is to make customers stronger. Then we won some more customers. Then we adapted some more. Most importantly, we learned to see the world from our customers’ perspective.

Where do we go from here? First, we’re working our way through the fishing supply chain – to producers of fish feed and other goods and services. We’re also looking at other fishing businesses. We’re also working with other types of protein producers, like poultry, beef, lamb, and pork.

So while we’re the software leader for salmon producers today, we plan to be the leader in protein production in the future. It may take us a while but we’re focused and dedicated. In the meantime, please pass the salmon.
