Do you know where your
ERP vendor is?

It’s 11:00 PM. Do you know where your ERP vendor is?

Want to talk about complexity? Let’s talk about the relationship between an ERP vendor and its customers. Many different people are involved on both sides. Everybody wants to do the right thing. But not everybody can see the big picture. Optimizing one layer of the relationship can sub-optimize another layer. Wires can get crossed. Things can fall between the cracks. It’s complicated.

That’s why we developed MyLawson.com. Think of it as an electronic filing cabinet. Everything you need to know about your relationship with Lawson is in there. From your side, you can find who’s responsible at Lawson to assist you on various issues. Let’s say you have a question about your bill. Whom should you call? Just look it up in MyLawson.com.

From our side, we can find out who’s responsible for what on your side. Let’s say we want to find out who should receive the latest software update at your company. We just look it up in MyLawson.com. MyLawson.com helps you get to the right person quickly. It helps us do the same thing.

But MyLawson.com is more than just a personnel directory. You can also find all the contracts ever signed between your company and Lawson. Need to know the terms and conditions of a given contract? Just look it up in MyLawson.com. You can also find the questions you’ve asked of our support line. And the answers. The system also includes shipping and billing information as well as product and service alerts. MyLawson.com also helps you communicate with other Lawson customers who may have questions and concerns that are similar to yours.

Frankly, building MyLawson.com wasn’t all that hard. But, as far as we know, we’re the only major ERP vendor to build such a system. It’s not about ability. It’s about attitude. Any ERP vendor could make it easy to find the information you need. We actually do.

As its name implies, The Lawson Opinionizer offers opinions. We believe we've got our facts straight but we don't guarantee it. A new Opinionizer appears every Monday. If you have an opinion, send an e-mail to Opinionizer@lawson.com
