Inbound Logistics - System Directed Put-away (e)




This one-day course enables you to get the most out of the inbound logistics (sub) process and system directed put-away in particular using Lawson M3. The focus is on receiving purchase orders. To increase efficiency in the warehouse, Warehouse Activity Control automatically proposes which location to use for cross-dock or put-away whenever goods receipts are to be reported. Apart from stock zone, location type, crane or corridor, Warehouse Activity Control offers many different variables to control suggested locations.

What Does This Course Cover?
This course aims to help you understand the warehouse reception department's main functions and how they are supported by Lawson M3.

The course covers:
    • The concept and processes of inbound logistics and the functionality available from a procurement point of view
    • The system directed put-away logic and anticipate which location will be selected
    • The difference between system directed put-away and user-directed put-away
    • How to configure quantity controlled location type selection; stock zone, aisle and level balancing; warehouse locations in order to optimize put-away; and preferred buffer locations How to use horizontal and/or vertical weight limits for groups of locations
    • How to perform so-called two-step put-away
    • The interaction between ABC classification and system directed put-away.

Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for people who work with supply chain execution and are new to system directed put-away or require an overview/ refresher.

To fully benefit from this course we recommend that you have a basic understanding of:
· Purchase Order Processing—Logistics (e-Learning course)
· Lawson M3 and how to navigate in it
· Business Process Design Tool (BPDT) and how to navigate in it.
